FAQ
This is my first time where do I start?
We provide all kinds of hair which are unprocessed, 100% human hair. If it is your first time getting a wig, we advise you to start with a curly wig. It requires low maintenance and is easy to wear compared to a frontal wig. Make sure you select the right lengths you want. It's all about your comfort level, however; curly wigs allow you to throw on and go!
Does the hair have a bad smell?
Our hair is 100% chemical-free. We not only care about beauty but also our customer’s health! But our suppliers do co-wash the hair in the production process, so it may have a little shampoo smell.
How long will the hair last?
Depends on primary care. The 100% natural hair that can last for a very long time depending on how you maintain it. Our motto is, "take care of her, and she will take care of you."
How should I care for my hair?
We suggested you treat your wig like your own hair, so please be mindful to stay away from ingredients that can strip your extensions of moisture such as parabens, sulfate, and silicone. These products usually tend to have a high alcohol content which dehydrates the hair follicle of its nutrients. Heavy oils are also not necessary to care for your extensions as it can weigh down your hair pattern. By rule of thumb, we recommend co-washing every other week. Deep conditioning can be done as needed. You may also purchase a wig home for your closet. The "wig homes" keep your wig moist and luxurious.
Washing your Hair Extensions.
First, we suggest you shampoo and condition your hair wig prior to installing.
- Always brush and detangle hair extensions dry before washing.
- We suggest you wash in cool water
- Wash your hair extensions carefully always keeping your head/wig straight.
- Gently massage the scalp/wig and the attachment points of the root to the tips but never in reverse (Do not twist the hair with your hands)
- Use a generous amount of moisturizing shampoo without sulfate or phosphate.
- Rinse your hair always keeping your head straight or wig upright.
- If you go to a salon, make sure that the steps mentioned above to avoid entanglement in the washing tank is respected.
Drying your hair extensions.
NEVER BRUSH, COMB OR UNRAVEL WET HAIR.
- Soak your extensions wet hair gently with a towel (don’t roll or rub hair into a towel).
- Allow to air dry or if you are in a hurry
- Use a dryer but do not comb if it is wet
- If you have to comb it when its wet, do it from bottom to top with a wider toothbrush.
Brushing your hair extensions.
Brush gently from the bottom up, taking your hair. If you feel a root node, gently separate extensions. Do not pass the brush or comb attachment points. Do not pull too hard when you feel resistance to brushing because the pressure can get hair extensions or worse pull your root if hair extension resists. It is also important not to scratch too hard at the root not to break or damage your hair extensions.
What type of hair care products should I use?
Like we said, treat this hair just as if it was your own hair. Use a good quality shampoo and conditioning products. Conditioning your hair is very important to keep it soft and manageable, so use leave-in conditioners. You can also use products like gel and hair spray to keep the curls in place, but make sure to wash your hair and not leave in these products in for a long time. Recommended shampoos and conditioners are Olive oil products. But any other good product works.
What is virgin hair?
Virgin Hair is human hair that is in its natural state from the hair donor. No chemical changes, no colour, has not been processed, and all cuticles are intact. All natural-hair-colour sold by B3 Lux Wig Collection is virgin hair. Hair can still be 100% human hair if coloured/bleached but will no longer be virgin because the chemical is applied to the hair change the colour. Think of this as natural hair and permed/coloured hair. Bold beauty has coloured hair from the factory but is 100% Human hair.
Can the hair be straightened or curled?
Your new hair extensions can be styled like your own hair for both natural-colour (Black) and coloured hair. You are able to use a thermal (hot) tool to straighten, curl, crimp, etc. Keep in mind the hair does not have all the nutrients that a strand growing from your scalp will. Heat damage can cause breakage and dryness. Therefore, it is imperative that you use a heat-protecting product, always co-wash your hair, and protect it during sleep hours.
Can I bleach or colour my wig?
Yes, you can. Any chemical processes should be done by a professional or at least consulted by one to get the desired colour. If you must do it yourself be cautious, get a good bleaching brand and try with a small piece first to see if it turns to the colour you want before you bleach all bundles. This purchase is an investment for you and chemically altering the hair can possibly damage it if not done the right way, even though the hair is 100% unprocessed virgin hair. Our virgin hair extensions can handle a colouring process very well. Be cautious because once the hair is chemically-altered incorrectly, the cuticle can become damaged from overexposing to bleach and causing fraying, breakage, dryness, and tangling. This, in turn, will affect the overall look and feel of your hair. Chemical damage has no reverse button, and we will not be held liable for these damages.
Does this hair shed or tangle?
Minimally, no hair is absolutely perfect even our own hair.
Shedding: A few strands initial shedding of new hair is normal. We always suggest customers to brushing it with a wide-tooth comb. Shedding will be caused by weft cutting or dryness. Please always seal the ends if you cut weft for installation and keep it moisturized.
Tangling: Usually, our hair will not tangle because it is cuticle intact human hair. However, dryness, oil & dirt build-up, saltwater or not combing out daily will lead to tangle and shedding. Please follow hair care instruction above and use good shampoo & conditioner to wash.
